A gateway consisting of a series of white flowing curtains billowing in the wind created the ideal entrance to An Zafar and Ayesha Fazli's wedding reception on July 28. The soft muslin was illuminated by gentle yellow lights and we felt we were drifting as we entered the crystal and ivory wedding function. A larger than life majestic white stretch limo stood grandly at the entrance waiting to take the lucky bride to her new home. The high profile affair was jam packed with the glitterati of Pakistan.

The bride and groom were receiving guests, standing on the made to order wooden podium. AM Zafar, with a twinkle in his eye wore a dark Armani suit, with a black tie. His slick white lapels peeked out at the corners. Bride Ayesha Fazli was dressed in a red and white Gharara. Her gold and poiki jewellery matched the colours in her bridal attire. Her hands were stained red with very traditional round motifs of mehndi. She wore a massive red and gold signature ring on her hand. Ali Zafar was looking super cute with his classic floppy haired look, and a wide happy smile. Ayesha's peaches and cream complexion glowed and she was looking sweet and young. Her make-up artists for the big day were Ather Shehzad, who had carefully followed her desire to keep her soft look. This sizzling couple is sure to be the "Jori" of the year.

The guest list was star studded. Frieha Altaf was looking fabulously ravishing in blue with massive sparklers in her ears. Related to the bride, Amir Adnan and Huma (in a sari) had flown in from Dubai. Ather Shehzad were in attendance. The star event manager QYT had made the Royal Palm venue look like a dream fairy tale. Some people were calling it a crystal castle, others an ice palace. Tiny mirchi lights twinkled on the roof in hundreds of sparkling rows. The white on white effect with crystal and cream was magical. Standing crystal chandeliers dotted the arena. Well done QYT.

Iman Ali arrived in a flowing all cream outfit by Mehdi. It was intricately worked with lots of fabric but was decidedly understated with no gold silver or jhillmill. The elegant effect was paramount. She was one of the best-dressed belles at the ball, with her very subtle look, straight hair, no jewels and toned down make-up. Iffat Rahim arrived in a flowing black and white number. Ayesha Sana looked immaculate. Selina was wearing a Kami number. Mashal Peerzada waved past looking very slender. Samina Peerzada in a maroon and off white net sari, was an icon of sophistication. She is evergreen as always. Asim Buksh of the Men's Store was spotted there too.

Pakistan's business and showbiz communities were well represented, as well as media personalities and many prominent political figures. They were all present to bless the couple starting their life together. We at Sunday send them all our very best and a big congratulation.

Shooting the new Talkshawk ad was indeed an exhilarating
ride. With a production of mega proportions, the new Talkshawk TVC was shot
in Baroda & Soorat, India.

The TVC showcases Ali Zafar and Aminah Haq along with the return of Sonia
Jehan. The inclusion of Sonia was a well-thought out decision, as she was
much admired by consumers. By popular demand of her fan base, Sonia was
specially written into the concept of the TVC, and portrayed in an array of
avatars, each showcasing different colorful costumes and elaborate dance
sequences. It is anticipated that her inclusion will add more energy,
glamour and beauty in the TVC, and will be appreciated by fans all over.

The new Talkshawk ad is
accompanied with the fresh face of Aaminah Haq. The pre-launch teaser print
and TV ads created an exciting build up to the actual commercial in an
innovative and arresting manner. With a production of mega proportions, the
new Talkshawk commercial shot mostly in Old City Lahore, has taken Pakistan
by storm. The production crew led by famed director, Asad-ul-Haq, had to
lock down some of the most crowded locations in Lahore for a whole day,
including CooCo’s Den, Shahi Qila, Masjid Wazir Khan and Al-Hafeez Plaza.
With larger-than-life imagery, the usual song and dance routine has been
replaced with some exciting stunts under the expertise of the foreign stunt
crew, Ace Stunts. Specially hired from Malaysia, this team of professional
stunt men and riggers is part of the Fear Factor Asia stunt team and also
used for international films.

Talkshawk’s third TV commercial was shot in India, this
time in Goa on the harbor. Most of the production crew remained the same,
except the Director of Photography this time was Shiva, best known for his
work on “Lagay Raho Munna Bhai”. Feroz Khan was brought back to choreograph
the sequences in this commercial as well. ET Studios brought a new tune for
Talkshawk 3.

The action was moved from a train to a moving yacht. With the intention of
making this commercial more adventurous and engaging, the two heroes danced
and acted in the style of a musical film or theater play. They also jumped
from boats. The shooting took place on the pier, where a whole bazaar was
created on the harbor.

This remained a memorable ad and also Sonia’s last as the Talkshawk brand
ambassador.

As a young girl, Mahnoor showed keen interest in human behavior. Perhaps, Mahnoor wore the smile of an innocent, little girl as she said that she wanted to become a psychiatrist. But Mahnoor was destined to be an artist. That smile, those eyes, they are really something, which boldly but complacently blend to make her the center of all eyes and lenses. It is the stuff of which the dreams are made of.

Mahnoor claimed her own fame before turning twenty in the modeling world. Later, she appeared in Pakistani television commercials as well. Mahnoor's first stab at acting was in Pakistani televisions mega hit drama serial, 'Marvi', directed by Sultana Siddiqui, commonly known as 'Aapi.' Writer, Noor-ul-Huda Shah, cast included Mahnoor, Ghazal Siddiqui, Badar Khalil, and Hussain Qazi. The story revolves around a village girl, 'Marvi'. Mahnoor played the friend of 'Marvi.' It was a touching story deftly related to the public.

Quickly thereafter, Mahnoor's identity as a performer began to emerge. Mahnoor and her teammates worked together as conceptual artists for the television.

Though drama serial 'Marvi' marked the debut of Mahnoor as a television artist. She attained stardom with her role in the drama serial 'Doosra Aasmaan', which was telecast from Pakistani television in 1993-94. In 'Doosra Aasmaan', Mahnoor was dubbed as Abid Ali's daughter who, in turn, lived and made a fortune in Dubai. Cast included Mahnoor, Abid Ali, Asad, and Sami Sani.

In her real life, Mahnoor liked Hamid Siddiqui, happened to be the son of her father's friend. Their families knew each other for years. In fact, both Mahnoor and Hamid grew up together. They remained steadfast friends through thick and thin.

Long story short, Mahnoor married Hamid with their parent's consent and blessings. Mahnoor was in her sixteenth year at the time of marriage, while Hamid was seventeen years of age at the time. By the grace of God, both Mahnoor and Hamid have had a blissful married life for the past twenty years. In a recent interview Mahnoor said that 'we are the golden couple. Everything good has been showered on us.

Perhaps, they must have understood and implemented the saying below in their practical life: 'I do not want to change you; you know what is best for you, much better than I. I do not want you to change me, I want you to accept me and respect me the way I am. In this way, we can build a strong relationship, based on reality, rather than a dream.'

Reverting to her show business career, Mahnoor became the most enchanting artist of the 1990s and she continues to make her presence felt forcefully to date. Additionally, her genius in succeeding is largely one of character-patience, self-discipline, rationality and inner resolve.

Mahnoor's acting is fraught with reality. The humane element is always present in her celluloid persona. That believability-and humanity-was powerfully manifested in the 1997 super hit television drama serial, 'Ye zindigi.' Director, Sultana Siddiqui, cast included Mahnoor, Noman Aijaz, and Humayun Saeed.

It is an enthralling tale of deception and dejection. From this, and a rarely perfected talent of wit, Mahnoor brings her interesting character 'Soha', not only to life, but also into the hearts of millions of dedicated viewers. Background song in Mehnaz's lilting voice 'Zindigi kay sub lamhay yaad gaar hotay hain' became uproariously popular. Most importantly, the last episode of 'Ye zindigi' is intent on draining our tear ducts.

Mahnoor's unique ability is that she has one of the most astonishing faces on the small screen. Expressions drift over it like mist. The poor girl, 'Fizza', from Bangladesh, smartly dubbed by Mahnoor, did the trick. 'Lamhay' is a play of individual sensibilities. Dwelling on her plus points, Mahnoor's independence of mind and her ability to focus on her work also serve her well in her show business career. Confidence in one's own judgment, she realized early on, is what matters most. Mahnoor's presentation always carries with it a peculiar vividness that is exclusively her own. Included in the list of illustrious plays is 'Pathjhar ki chaaon' in the year 2000, directed by Mahnoor. It is an intricate story about a mother and her daughter. Mahnoor played the role of the eldest daughter. Regarding her charismatic figure, the discerning viewers fall passionately in love with her at first sight. From her earlier days in working life, Mahnoor has learnt a lot, and forgotten nothing. Most of all, Mahnoor has been glorified like no other artist in modern times. The intoxication of glory, Oh! How uplifted she would be! Mahnoor's intense and interesting performance in the romantic comedy drama 'Kabhi kabhi pyar mein' in August 2001 brought more laurels to her. Director, Afreen Baig, writer, Shahid Kazmi, cast included Mahnoor, Humayun Saeed and Adnan Siddiqui. The way 'Kabhi kabhi pyar mein' was romanticized is a feat in modern Pakistani television direction. This also proves the fact that Pakistani television crew are hard at work on sophisticated craft. This woman of individualism continues to exert a peculiar fascination through her acting and her direction. Day after day, Mahnoor receives critical appreciation about her accomplishment. Early life
Vaneeza Ahmad was born in Pakistan but later moved to Germany with her parents to study. She was pressured by her parents to get into medicine when she was in high school. She was to return to Pakistan at the age of 18 to study further medicine but her plans were thwarted by a lack of high school physics and she decided to rather attend Kinnaird College in Lahore.
With her interests still inclined towards medicine, she graduated from Kinnaird College with a bachelor's degree in psychology. In her brief stay at the college, she started to model casually. Not much interested in modelling as a career option, she was showered with offers from various fashion designers, some of which were notable in the Pakistani fashion industry including the likes of fashion designer Nilofer Shahid and photographer Khawar Riaz.
